Your information, and what we do with it
VILLA AURELAGO is a private estate on Lake Como — a restored antique residence alongside contemporary lakefront villas, let to one party at a time. This notice explains what we collect when you enquire, talk to our concierge or write to us, why we hold it, and what you can ask us to do with it. It applies to this website and to the correspondence that follows from it.
We are a small house. Your details are read by the people who look after your stay, and by no one else.
What we collect
When you send an enquiry, we record what you type into the form: your name, email address, telephone number, nationality, the number of guests, your arrival and departure dates and whether they are flexible, the villa you are interested in, how you came to hear of us, your message, and the language you were reading in. The form does not submit without your consent.
When you speak to our AI concierge, the conversation is stored as written — your messages and the concierge's replies, with the time and the language. If the concierge cannot answer something, the question is kept so that a member of staff can follow it up. Please do not type payment card details, passport numbers or health information into the chat; it is not the right place for them.
If you write or call us directly, we keep that correspondence in the same way any host would.
Why we hold it
To answer you, to check whether the dates and the house are available, and to arrange and run your stay. An enquiry is not a confirmed booking — availability and arrangements are confirmed by a person, not by the website or the concierge.
Our lawful bases are your consent, given when you tick the box on the form, and our legitimate interest in replying to someone who has asked us a question. You can withdraw consent at any time; it does not affect what we did before you withdrew it.
Who else sees it
Our staff and the partners who deliver the service you have asked for — a driver, a boat captain, a restaurant — and then only the part they need.
Three suppliers process data on our behalf: Anthropic, whose model generates the concierge's replies and therefore receives the messages you send it; Supabase, which hosts our database and files; and Vercel, which serves this website. They act on our instructions and may not use your information for their own purposes.
We do not sell your information, we do not share it for advertising, and we do not use it to build a profile of you.
Cookies and tracking
This website sets no cookies on your browser and carries no analytics, advertising pixels or third-party tracking of any kind. There is nothing here to accept or refuse.
One cookie exists, and it is not yours: a signed session cookie set only when a member of staff signs in to the private administration area.
How long we keep it
For as long as your enquiry or stay is live, and for a reasonable period afterwards so that we can answer questions about it and meet our accounting and legal obligations. We review what we hold and remove what we no longer need. We do not run an automatic deletion schedule, so if you want your details removed sooner, ask us and we will do it.
Your rights
You may ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, ask us to restrict or stop a particular use, ask for it in a portable form, object to our use of it, or withdraw a consent you have given. Write to the address below and we will respond.
If you are in the European Union and you believe we have handled your information badly, you may complain to your national supervisory authority. In Italy that is the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali.

This notice describes our actual practice and is kept current with it. The registered company details of the estate's operating entity are being settled and will be published here once they are; until then this page is a statement of how we work rather than a filing.
